Mid autumn festival
October 2, 2009 at 9:13 am

Today is the mid autumn festival. To be honest, I never really knew in detail what the festival is about. All I know is that this is the time where mooncakes are eaten and kids play lanterns. Some will also lit candles outside the home.

This brings back a little memory of my childhood. I remember my brothers would make holes on empty cans and then lit a candle in it, tie some strings around the can to a stick; there you have it, a lantern! Sometimes we would also make lanterns out of glass papers and bamboo sticks, that was cool and fun.

Hope everyone who celebrates this festival will have a jolly good time tonight.

Paper Chase

It is really interesting to read of all the success stories of my ex-class and school mates. Most are high powered women in the corporate world. Some are even pursuing their degrees and Masters despite being busy as mothers.

When you are surrounded by highly career motivated people like that, it makes you want to quit being a SAHM and start looking for work through online recruitment firms such as PR Job Search because you just can’t wait.

Fortunately I am very contented and happy now. No amount of paper chase and money could give me this. However, the idea of returning to the workforce someday could be a possibility.

… and it’s yikes!  I wasn’t even aware that yesterday was October 1st.  Is there a pause button to freeze time temporarily?  Shops, supermarkets and departmental stores are already selling Christmas decors and foods.

Not a really fruitful year this one and probably one of the most less hectic (thanks to DD being a little bit more independent).  I can only think that next year will be more interesting, really hope so.  Some travelling for wishful thinking?
